Oscar + Lenneah were married May 22, 2020.
This was the first wedding I shot under the new restrictions of Covid-19, and let me tell you- it did not disappoint. Despite the stress of weekly changes to rules and restrictions, Oscar and Lenneah moved forward with their original wedding date. Forced to scrap their guest list and all the plans for their reception, they made the best of the situation. They hosted a beautiful outdoor ceremony on a friends property nearby, in the company of their closest friends and family.
So it goes- ‘love cannot be cancelled’.
The day began at Lenneah’s family home. As soon as I walked in the door I could feel the love, joy, and excitement in the air. Nothing was taking away from this special day. Lenneah got ready with the help of her mum, and revealed her dress to her bridesmaids, brother, and dad. (Get a load of that weepy father of the bride!) Later, friends and family who were no longer able to attend the wedding in person, came by the house to show their love and support, and to safely see off the bride!
Wedding planner, florist, and longtime friend of the Bride, Vanessa Villani, setup the most picture perfect backdrop for the ceremony. But before exchanging vows, Oscar and Lenneah enjoyed a sweet first look.
With nerves put to rest, they were all ready for their ceremony. Lenneah walked barefoot down the ‘aisle’, and together her and Oscar enjoyed a talk by another longtime family friend. Their ceremony was lighthearted and personal, and kept all of us laughing.
After exchanging vows, they shared their first dance.
After enjoying some time with their family, Oscar and Lenneah hopped into the coolest Vintage Volkswagen to head out for portraits. We pulled over to grab some impromptu photos alongside the road before arriving at a beautiful trail in Caledon. We parked outside the trail entrance and grabbed more photos with the VW. It’s amazing how little you need to get great shots- this countryside intersection provided the perfect backdrop for us. Once we finally hit the trail we were greeted by locals on horseback, an absolute win for me. To Lenneah’s surprise, the horses happened to be a bit hungry…
This day was a special one.
Despite a worldwide pandemic, these two, and many others enjoyed the wedding of their dreams. A wedding is so much more than a big, beautiful party. It is about two people; their love, friendship, and promise to spend the rest of their lives together. No matter where, when, or with who this day is shared- it is a special one.
